Switching Seasons from North to South

A Guide To Sailing Costa Rica

Sailing Costa Rica is all about timing. Between May to December is the season for our overnight trips up North to places like this will be coming to an end.

As the Papagayo wind kicks in, we’ll be taking the show South as we still have the whole Pacific Coast to play on. But no matter what, there is always sailing in Costa Rica.

An example of some of the places we sail to are:

  • San Juanillo
  • Samara/Carillo
  • Santa Teresa
  • Mal Pais
  • Cabo Blanca Nature Reserve
  • Playa Cabuya
  • Montezuma
  • Isla Tortuga
  • Curu Wildlife Refuge
  • Playa Quesera
  • Quepos, Manuel Antonio
  • Drake Bay
  • Isla del Cano
  • Osa Peninsula
  • Matapalo
  • Puerto Jimenez
  • Pavones
  • Golfo Dulce, Golfito.

We do one way and round trip excursions. The beautiful thing about sailing Costa Rica, is it’s always the right season somewhere and it’s always 5 o’clock on the way there!
